INTERNATIONAL FREIGHT

International freight forwarding
from China.

Move supplier orders on one plan that covers the transport mode, the work at origin and the agreed destination handover. Compare what each option really includes before anything is booked.

What does international freight forwarding cover?

Freight forwarding connects the transport mode with everything around it: supplier collection, consolidation, documents, customs steps and the final delivery leg. VG Shipping plans those parts together, so it is clear who is responsible for each stage before the cargo moves.

CHOOSE THE TRANSPORT MODE

Ocean, air or rail?
Decide on the whole journey.

The freight rate is only one part of the decision. Compare transit time, cargo acceptance, handling and the destination leg together, because the fastest option is not always the cheapest one to finish.

PLANNED & ECONOMICAL

Ocean & rail freight

For larger orders and cargo that can wait for a scheduled departure. Dedicated container space or shared volume on sea lanes, with rail on the corridors where it is available.

Best suited to
Larger orders that are not deadline-sensitive
Capacity
Container space or shared LCL volume
Transit pattern
Fixed schedules with longer sea or rail time
Main variables
Port pairs, terminals and border steps
How to compare
Main freight plus the full origin-to-door scope

TIME-CRITICAL

Air & express freight

For cargo with a tight deadline, a launch date or a replenishment gap. Chargeable weight and carrier acceptance decide whether the option works for the consignment.

Best suited to
Urgent cargo with a short delivery window
Capacity
Chargeable weight on scheduled services
Transit pattern
Airport-to-airport plus local legs
Main variables
Acceptance rules and restricted goods
How to compare
Rate plus airport handling and delivery
Request an air freight quote

Ask for every option priced on the same pickup point, delivery point and inclusions before you compare the totals.

DEFINE YOUR FREIGHT SCOPE

One mode is not the whole plan.
Build the scope you need.

01 / SCOPE

Supplier Collection & Consolidation

Bring several supplier locations into one handover before the main transport leg, with receiving checks along the way.

02 / SCOPE

Mode Selection & Booking

Hold the sailing, flight or rail slot that matches your ready date, then confirm cut-offs and documents in time for it.

03 / SCOPE

Destination Handover

Agree who clears the cargo, who pays duties and who delivers, and check that the delivery address can receive it.

HOW THE FREIGHT PLAN COMES TOGETHER

Agree the plan
before anything is booked.

01

Scope & mode

Confirm the cargo, the ready date and the delivery need, then compare the transport modes that genuinely fit.

02

Collect & document

Coordinate supplier collection or handover, consolidation where needed and the invoice, packing list and transport documents.

03

Book & dispatch

Lock the sailing, flight or rail slot and follow the cut-offs through to departure.

04

Clear & deliver

Hand over the agreed documents so destination clearance and the final delivery leg can be arranged.

WHERE THE TIME IS ACTUALLY SPENT

The main leg is only
one part of the timeline.

Planning stageWhat can move the timelineWhat to confirm
Cargo readinessSupplier production, packing and document consistencyReady date plus handover instructions
Origin consolidationMultiple collections, warehouse receipt and cut-off timesReceiving window per supplier
Main transportMode, routing, transshipment and seasonal congestionEstimated departure and arrival
Destination clearanceImport documents, duty payment and inspectionImporter and document readiness
Final deliveryDelivery booking, site access and unloading equipmentAddress, contact window and unloading plan

Transit estimates depend on the mode, the routing and the season. Treat them as planning ranges rather than guaranteed dates.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

International freight
questions, answered.

Start from the cargo, the deadline and who is responsible at each end.

Get a freight quote
What information do I need to request a freight quotation?

Share the product description, supplier pickup city, destination city or address, package count, packed dimensions, gross weight, cargo ready date and the delivery tasks you want included. Flag any figures that are still estimates.

Can I ask for a quote before the goods are packed?

Yes. Mark dimensions and weights as estimates and ask when the amount will be reconfirmed against final packed cargo.

Why do two freight quotations show different totals?

Compare cargo inputs, transport mode, charging unit, delivery boundary, assumptions, validity and exclusions.

Does a door-to-door price include every charge?

Only the items explicitly included in the written quotation. Confirm duties, taxes, inspections, storage and special handling separately.

Which is more suitable for my shipment: air or ocean freight?

Consider cargo size, urgency, route, acceptance requirements and the complete collection-to-delivery cost and timeline.

What is the difference between FCL and LCL?

FCL uses a container for one shipper’s cargo; LCL combines compatible shipments. Compare packed volume, handling and the full service scope.
