The four documents every shipment needs
What to check on each document
Names, addresses and quantities must agree across every document. Check the product descriptions against the invoice, the package count against the packing list, and the weights against both. One wrong digit creates a customs query that holds the cargo longer than the correction would have taken.
When to run the checklist
Run the review before the cargo is handed over, while the supplier can still reprint and correct. A document found wrong after departure means declarations amended at the destination, extra fees and a slower release.
