Does direct air freight mean a dedicated aircraft?

No. A direct flight normally describes a route without an intermediate transfer between the quoted airports. It does not mean that you have chartered the aircraft. Consolidated cargo may also use a direct flight; check the proposed routing and booking arrangement.
