Check the factory, not the website
Photos and video calls can be staged. A third-party factory audit, or your own visit during a sourcing trip, tells you whether the supplier makes the product or trades someone else’s. Both are workable — but you should know which one you are dealing with.
Let the payment terms confirm the picture
Small deposits against clear milestones are normal; large prepayments to personal accounts are not. Suppliers who resist every verification step are telling you something, and the cheapest moment to listen is before the order.
